Prof. Dr. Francisco Alonso Represents DS4M Mediterráneo at the CRED Strategic Data Spaces Workshop

The event, opened by Minister Óscar López and closed by Minister Mónica García, brought together Spain’s leading experts to coordinate the advancement of sectoral Data Spaces.

Yesterday, Prof. Dr. Francisco Alonso, representing DS4M Mediterráneo (Universitat de València), participated in the workshop organized by the CRED (Data Spaces Reference Center). The event established itself as a key meeting point for the coordination and promotion of Data Spaces in Spain, addressing everything from regulatory frameworks to practical use cases in strategic sectors.

Institutional Opening and the “Data Spaces Kit”

The day began with a keynote by Óscar López, Minister for Digital Transformation and Public Function, who highlighted the critical role of these ecosystems in today’s economy.

A major milestone of the event was the presentation of the Data Spaces Kit, a tool designed to provide context and facilitate the development of initiatives in this field. Following the presentation, a networking session allowed attendees to exchange experiences and strengthen alliances between universities, public administrations, and the private sector.

Roundtable: Transversal and Sectoral Perspectives

The central debate featured a diverse group of experts providing a multi-sectoral view on data utilization:

  • Mª José Díaz López (datos.gob.es – General Directorate of Data)

  • Clàudia Colàs Torres (AgrospAI Project – University of Lleida)

Subsequently, moderated by Antonio Alcolea Muñoz, a specific roundtable focused on national strategic projects. In this session, Prof. Dr. Francisco Alonso shared the panel with prominent representatives from various fields:
